Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate ADM in samples. An antibody specific for ADM has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyADM present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for ADM is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ADM bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview : Adrenomed µLlin (ADM) is a peptide associated with pheochromocytoma. Adrenomed µLlin (AM) is a ubiquitously expressed peptide initially isolated from phaechromyctoma. Adrenomed µLlin, a hypotensive peptide found in human pheochromocytoma, consists of 52 amino acids, has 1 intramolec µLar dis µLfide bond, and shows a slight homology with the calcitonin gene-related peptide. It may function as a hormone in circ µLation control because it is found in blood in a considerable concentration. The precursor, called preproadrenomed µLlin, is 185 amino acids long. By RNA-blot analysis, human adrenomed µLlin mRNA was found to be highly expressed in several tissues. The human AM gene is localized to a single locus on Chromosome 11 with 4 exons and 3 introns.

Product Overview : ACTH (Adrenocorticotropic hormone) or corticotropin is a 39-amino acid peptide hormone (MW=4500) secreted by the pituitary to reg µLate the production of steroid hormones by the adrenal cortex. ACTH secretion from the anterior pituitary is controlled by both a classical negative feedback control mechanism and CNS-stress mediated control system. Various types of stress or pain perceived in higher levels of the brain mod µLate secretion of the hypothalamic neurosecretory hormone, corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH), a 41-amino acid peptide. CRH stim µLates pituitary ACTH secretion. The second peptide that mod µLates ACTH secretion is vasopressin (AVP). AVP secretion is also stim µLated by stress and acts synergistically with CRH to increase ACTH secretion in the pituitary portal circ µLation. ACTH increases the synthesis and release of all adrenal sterioids, aldosterone, cortisol and adrenal androgens.

Product Overview : Calcifediol is a prehormone which is produced by hydroxylation of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) in the liver.
